This Japanese Artist Creates Beautiful Yet Bizarre Stone Sculptures That Will Blow Your Mind

When you think you’ve seen everything and that nothing will surprise you, it is the ideal time for you to come across a combination of beautiful yet bizarre Stone sculptures of a Japanese artist Hirotoshi Ito.

Graduated in 1982 at the Tokyo National University of Arts, Ito began his career with metalwork and finally turns to the working branch of his family, the stones.

Hirotoshi Ito uses stones of a river near his home to create artworks that are outlandish, disturbing, or simply beautiful and astonishing. The artist says that, to his statues, he usually only optimizes the original shape of the stone.

It sounds easy, but if you look closely his work, you will see that there is nothing simple. Not to mention the fact that stones are not very easy material to work with.
